Upcoming Construction Look-Ahead
Week Beginning April 20, 2026
Weather permitting, construction activities for the Centralville Sewer Separation Project will continue in late April as part of the City of Lowell’s ongoing efforts to improve sewer capacity, reduce flooding, and protect the Merrimack River. Crews from Albanese D&S, Inc. are expected to work in several locations throughout the Centralville neighborhood.
Where Work is Happening
- Bunker Hill Avenue (West Sixth Street to Lakeview Avenue)
Water main installation and related utility work will continue along this corridor, including service connections and valve work. A temporary water shutdown may be required to complete certain connections.
A large excavator will be operating and staged on Bunker Hill Avenue for several weeks. During this time, lower Bunker Hill Avenue will be divided into two sections with no through access. - Hildreth Street (Bunker Hill Avenue to Ludlam Street)
Water main installation is anticipated to continue along Hildreth Street as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements.
- Lakeview Avenue Area
Crews are expected to perform sewer installation work, including pipe installation and structure work. This may include short-term water service interruptions associated with tie-in activities.
- Bunker Hill Avenue (West Sixth Street to Lakeview Avenue)
Installation of a culvert and water infrastructure is anticipated in this area, which may require an extended (multi-day) shutdown of Bunker Hill Avenue.
Special Activities / Temporary Impacts
